Heavy-Duty Twin-Shaft Shredding Technology
TASKMASTER metal shredders use a low-speed, high-torque twin-shaft design with counter-rotating cutter stacks that grip and shear scrap metal efficiently. The unique cam-shaped cutter configuration eliminates the need for sizing screens, reducing maintenance and downtime.
This design produces minimal noise, sparking, dust, and heat — critical advantages when processing metal in indoor recycling facilities. The result is reliable, energy-efficient size reduction that keeps your scrap metal operation running continuously.

Materials We Shred
Franklin Miller metal shredders process a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials: steel drums (empty or with residuals), sheet metal and plate, aluminum scrap and extrusions, IBC containers and totes, and construction and demolition waste.
For e-waste recycling, our shredders reduce hard drives, circuit boards, laptops, servers, and other electronic equipment to processable sizes for downstream material recovery.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
1What types of metal can your shredders process?
TASKMASTER metal shredders handle steel drums, sheet metal, aluminum scrap, e-waste (hard drives, circuit boards, laptops), IBC containers, and construction and demolition debris. Our engineers can configure cutters for your specific material mix.
2What size is the output?
Output size is configurable based on the cutter profile and spacing selected for your application. Our engineering team will recommend the optimal configuration to achieve your target particle size and throughput.
3Which model is right for my application?
The TASKMASTER TM3000 is ideal for standard metal shredding applications. The TM4000 is designed for the highest volume operations and largest materials, with an adjustable throat opening up to 40″ x 72″. Contact our engineers to discuss your requirements.
4How do your shredders handle sparking and dust?
The low-speed, high-torque design of TASKMASTER shredders minimizes sparking, dust, noise, and heat generation during metal processing. This makes them well suited for indoor recycling facilities and environments where spark reduction is critical.
5Do you offer custom configurations?
Yes. Franklin Miller has over 100 years of custom engineering experience. We design shredder systems to match your specific material, throughput, and installation requirements. Contact our engineering team to discuss your application.
